Escaping the long arm of law might not be as easy as some criminals might think. These law-disobedient people were caught red handed by the police and ended up behind bars. Their escape plans were not thought thoroughly through. These are their stories!

1. A First Date from Hell

Leah Gibbs (23), a mother of two has decided to get back in the saddle and date again. She met Adam Minton (21) through Facebook and decided to go on a date with him. When she came to his house the date had an awkward start. He asked her to drive him to the mall where he was supposes to meet his friend. However, when he got out he started yelling “go, go, go” so she started the car and they stormed off. When they got back to his house he began to act rude so Leah decided to go home. Just as she was about to leave, the police stormed in and apprehended them both. After a night in jail she was released and all of the charges against her were lifted. On the other hand Adam was sentenced to four and a half years in jail for armed robbery. It will be awhile before she decided to go on a date again.

2. The Armless Getaway Driver

This might be one of the least thought through getaway plans in the history of getaway plans. A gang that stole £ 175,000 needed a getaway driver and they made the worst possible choice- a man with no arms. Needless to say after driving for 30 miles they crashed. He was given a 12-month custody sentence and was suspended for two years.

3. Woman Accidentally Stole a Getaway Car

Blanca, a random woman was in the bank when the robbers dropped in. She got so scared that she ran out frantically and got into the first car she saw. Funny enough it was the robbers’ car. She drove for a few miles and was arrested by the police for stealing the escape car. She was acquitted by the FBI. Unfortunately the robbers only stole another car and are still at large.

4. Horse Getaway Car

János Jakab loaded his horse cart with £300,000 in cigarettes and tobacco and thus tried to outrun the border police. It should come as no surprise that the chase was “intense”.

5. Wheelchair as a Mean to Get Away

Using a wheelchair as a getaway vehicle might seem absurd to some. But everyone was surprised when a man in his sixties managed to escape in one. A bearded elderly man in an electric wheelchair held clerks of the Wachovia Bank, CA on gunpoint. No matter how impossible it might seem he managed to get into hid Ford Sedan and drive off. The police wasn’t sure whether the man was truly disabled or it was all a part of his master plan for them to think so.

6. A Nudist Golf Cart

A man in Osceola County, Florida is accused of robbing a Lowe’s outlet. He tried to escape in a golf cart he hijacked from a local nudist colony. When the police caught up with him they punched him in the face and apprehended.
